FIBCs: You will pay more for an FIBC than a paper sack on a unit basis, but because one FIBC replaces 20 to 40 paper bags, the savings per ton on transportation, handling/filling, and time for emptying are significant. 2. Paper sacks: The cheapest per bag, but the most costly when handling and wastage of damaged products are taken into account. They may be applicable in operations with low volume, and are too cheap not to use if you have a very small quantity to pack.
3. Plastic drums: High initial investment. Viable for liquids and hazardous chemicals, but not as efficient as FIBCs for dry bulk products.
